Publish a purchase request

Publishing a request

A purchase request is your structured demand for a chemical product or supply need. Publishing one lets relevant suppliers discover and respond to it.

You can create a request in two ways:

  • Without an account — use the homepage quick form or the "Post a purchase request" entry in the navigation. Enter the product details and your email, then submit.
  • With an account — sign in, open your workspace, and start a new purchase request. You can also start from a compound page to prefill the product details.

Anonymous requests are still private by default: ChemAbout does not publish your company name or contact details. Public demand pages only show anonymized request information.

Fields that improve matching

The more precise your request, the better the matches:

  • CAS number — strongly recommended. It helps ensure accurate matching to the right compound instead of a similarly named one.
  • Purchase volume band — helps suppliers judge fit and respond faster.
  • Specifications and use — purity, grade, packaging, and intended use where relevant.

Managing an anonymous request

After you publish without an account, ChemAbout sends a management link to the email you provided. Keep that link safe. It lets you:

  • View the request you posted.
  • Unlist it from the public demand board while keeping private matching active.
  • Show it on the public demand board again.
  • Extend an expired request.
  • Delete the request so it no longer appears or participates in matching.

The management link acts like a private key for that request, so do not share it with people who should not be able to change or delete the request.

What happens next

Relevant suppliers can respond and signal their intent to supply. If you have an account, matches you accept become matched requests, managed inside your workspace. If you posted as a guest, ChemAbout uses your email and management link to help you keep control of the request.

Remember: ChemAbout connects you with potential counterparts. Supplier qualification, contracts, payment, shipping, and compliance remain your responsibility — see What ChemAbout is (and is not).
